Some of the most commonly asked questions that we have received:
Q. Who owns the website? A. We are in the business of providing professional websites to businesses through our website rental program. All content supplied by the client belongs to them. The client can buy the website from us at any time after the initial 12-month period of the plan for a nominated buy out fee depending on the rental plan option you are on. Monthly payments go towards paying off your website, however until the website is purchased outright it is owned by us. Please note: It is our knowledge and working behind the scenes of each website that contribute a great deal to the success of the website. If the client wishes to purchase the website, after the 12 month contract is up then all activity within the CMS will stop unless a maintenance contract between both parties has been organized, or the client wishes to continue on the plan. If the client does continue with just a maintenance plan, in most circumstances your plan price will drop.
Q. How long will it take to design and launch my new rental website? A. From your instruction to start the website design, and rental contract has been signed, once we receive required information from the client it will generally take 7 days to have your website completed and live online. Beyond the basic plan, in most cases it is within 14 days (dependent on workload). Some e-commerce sites may take up to 21 days, depending on the amount of products being offered by the client.
Q. Can I cancel my website at any time? A. Yes. You will be able to cancel your contract anytime, but you will have to pay out the agreed contractual time of 12 months on your website rental agreement if you cancel within 12 months time. Our plans have a 12 month contract. After twelve months, 30 days notice is all that is required to cancel the contract. If you wish to continue renting the website you will need to do nothing after the 12 months, we will continue on a month-to-month basis. Your costs won’t go up, they will be locked at the original price. There are no cancellation fees once outside of our agreed 12 month contract. If you cancel your website, you have rights to domains, text and images you supplied us. Any domain names you have bought and registered in your own name will always belong to you. If we have provided domain names, images and text, just talk to us if you would like to buy them. We provide a “buy website” option after the first 12 months, the amount will vary depending on your plan.
Q. How do I pay for my website? A. Set up fees will be invoiced separately and payable before the website development begins and rental agreement has been signed. Upon setup you will be emailed a direct debit form which arranges direct payment from Paypal or credit card payment through Square, every month - from the date of your website launch
Q. How much will the setup of my website be? A. It depends on which website plan you have chosen. Setup fees are one-time and start from $100.
Q. What other fees will I be charged for? A. Your monthly fee covers everything! Domain name, hosting fees, Search Engine Optimization. If you require extra components or features for your website during your rental contract, then we will re-evaluate the plan you are in and move you accordingly.
Q. What is a CMS? A. A Content Management System (CMS) allows businesses to easily edit their own websites with little computer knowledge required. You will have the ability to do text edits to all your web site content. If you wish to add new pages then please contact us and we will gladly do this for you.
Q. What computer skills will I need to be able to update my website? A. If you can use Microsoft Word or Outlook to create a document or send an email, then you will be able to use this system to edit your website pages.
Q. Do I need to install software onto my computer? A. No there is no need to install any software, all you need is access to the internet.
